She is the Medical Director and Founder of the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0Physician-Run Integrative Medicine Lifestyle Center offering a personalized approach that is tailored to address patients\u2019 unique medical problems, using both conventional and alternative treatment options. Her goal is to find safe solutions to treat hormonal imbalances while modulating genes to reduce the risk of breast cancer and improve vitality.<\/p>

She graduated Medicine with Honours at the young age of 24<\/u> <\/strong>from the University of Toronto. Dr. Caplan went into Family Practice at the Women\u2019s College Hospital where she was the Chief Resident. From there, Dr. Caplan\u00a0went into Family Practice. She was the first Resident to go directly to a staff position at Women\u2019s College Hospital, where\u00a0she worked for over 20 years as\u00a0a Family Practice Inpatient Attending, delivered\u00a0babies, saw\u00a0outpatients, and taught\u00a0residents and medical students. Dr. Caplan is a Lecturer at the University of Toronto and is on staff at Sunnybrook Health Science Center.<\/p>

She is amongst a few Canadian Physicians to have become Board Certified and a Fellow in Anti-Aging and Regenerative & Functional Medicine as well as a Fellow in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine with the Metabolic Medical Institute.\u00a0 She recently became Board Certified in Integrative Medicine with the American Board of Physician Specialists in 2020.<\/p>

As a result of her expertise in Women\u2019s Health, Dr. Caplan was given a GP Focused Designation in Gynecology in 2011.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Her newest claim to fame is addressing both Women\u2019s and Men\u2019s Sexual Health and treating conditions like ED (Erectile Dysfunction) with the P-Shot for men and for women, treating conditions like stress urinary incontinence (aka- leaking), vaginal dryness, lichen sclerosis, vestibulitis, and the good old fashion\u2026 \u201cI lost my libido and I want it back.\u201d She\u2019s so popular, they call her the Queen of the O-Shot<\/a>.<\/p>

For several years she was a speaker for MotherRisk and Duchesnay on the topics of Nausea and Vomiting in pregnancy and the uses of medications and herbs in pregnancy. She often lectures and teaches other MDs and Naturopaths how to use Bio-Identical Hormones. She\u2019s been on several podcasts both locally and internationally and was one of the speakers in \u201cRegain your Brain\u201d with leading doctors like Dr. Perlmutter, Dr. Daniel Amen, and Dr. Bredesen.<\/p>

She is passionate about Health Optimization, Hormone Balance, and Sexual Health using Integrative and Functional Medicine approaches to help patients live better, longer lives and providing solutions to problems they thought they couldn\u2019t talk about. Functional Medicine <\/strong><\/h5>\n

Functional Medicine is designed to find the root cause of medical conditions. It has evolved through the efforts of scientists and clinicians from many fields including clinical nutrition, molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, genetics, Environmental Medicine, Conventional Medicine and many other disciplines. Functional Medicine evaluates the body as a whole, with special attention on how lifestyle, nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances, stress and toxic load play on the body. Functional Medicine tests such as Organic acid test (OAT), CDSA (comprehensive stool analysis), SIBO testing, genetic testing, micronutrient testing offer additional information that conventional tests often don\u2019t provide. They are based on scientific literature and evidence but are not often accepted by conventional medicine.<\/p>\n
